Meet the Great Humanitarians: Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin

The fight for migrant, civil and human rights is very crucial. Humanitarians have spent decades fighting to see that the rights are implemented. Despite the regular advice to treat everyone with the respect they deserve, there still treat individuals who treat people based on what they have and who they are. The current technology development has led to the world compressing to a small village. People can now see the opportunities available in other countries. As a result, the level of immigration is raising at a very high rate. The migrant’s rights are, therefore, the most commonly abused right in all states.

The Frontera Fund, launched by Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin is among the most active philanthropist groups. The Foundation helps in seeing that all the migrants, civil and human rights are observed as well as support other individuals with financial support to reach their goals.

The Frontera Fund is currently working to see that the DACA Foundation does not close down. This is after the Texas Attorney General allegedly accused them of not having the legal documentation required. Read more: Jim Larkin | Crunchbase and Michael Lacey | Twitter

The DACA Organization works to see that the youths who joined the USA when they were kids are not deported. They give the members an extra two years in the state to accomplish their goals. They do not dictate the members on what to do with the additional time.

Some members choose to gain the full membership that they require to stay in the country. Others use the time to complete their education. The beneficiaries of the DACA has helped in the growth of the country. However, some people do not see the immigrants as individuals who benefit the state. Joe Arpaio is among the individuals who do not support immigration.

Lacey and Larkin had a rough encounter with Sheriff Joe after they published an article pointing out to the malicious acts of Arpaio. He sent his goons who arrested the duo at midnight from their homes. They were compensated with $3.75 million that they used to begin the Frontera Fund.

Recently, the sheriff got in trouble after he disobeyed a federal judge’s order. This was as a result of the profiling of the Latino drivers. Joe intentionally ignored the order and led to his subjects disobeying the order as well.

As a result, he was summoned to court where he never denied the accusations but instead said that the order was not clear.

After evidence showed that he disobeyed the order, he was sentenced to jail. Unfortunately, his non-supporters will not see him go back to jail because Donald Trump has pardoned him.

The pardoning has been received with mixed feelings. Lacey and Larkin have decided not to rest until they see justice is served. Lacey and Larkin were able to win the war against the sheriff last time, and there is no reason he cannot do it this time.

Meanwhile, Joe Arpaio has publicly thanked Donald Trump for seeing the effort he has put to serve the nation. Arpaio has gone ahead and announced that he will be running for the senator seat.
